Jonathan James Henning, 20, Ness City, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, in Hays.

He was born June 26, 1992, in Ransom to Terry and Joby Wendler Henning. He was a 2010 graduate of Ness City High School.

He was a student at Fort Hays State University getting ready to start his junior year.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ness City, and Knights of Columbus Council No. 2352, Ransom.

Survivors include his parents; two older brothers, Nickolas and Benjamin Henning, both of Ness City; his grandmother, Kathy Wendler, Ness City; a great-grandfather, Tony Wildeman, Ness City; and a grandfather, Julius Henning, Ransom.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Rose Henning; and his grandfather, Mell Wendler.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ness City; burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Ness City.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, both at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, and from 5 p.m. until time of service Friday at the church.

A Knights of Columbus rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, followed by a vigil, both at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Jonathan Henning Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
