Lawrence Schuyler Jones, 100, Hill City, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Graham County Hospital, Hill City.

He was born June 9, 1913, in Alton to Schuyler S. and Mamie Mary (Canon) Jones.

He was a farmer.

Survivors include four daughters, Alvena Griffie, Newton, Veta Wyrick, El Gentro, Calif., Sylvia Ward and Lorena Harper, both of Sacremento, Cailf.; two brothers, Kenneth Jones, Phillipsburg, and Francis Jones, Hill City; seven sisters, Shirley Ryme, Colorado Springs, Colo., Elizabeth Williams, Sacramento, Alta Berry and Margaret Price, both of Denver, Rosa Stokes, Hill City, Ethyl Johnson and Justine Johnson, both of Kansas City, Mo.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Missionary Baptist Church, Nicodemus; burial in Mount Olive Cemetery, Bogue.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Stinemetz Funeral Home, Hill City, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church.
