Joseph S. Fuller, 87, Freedom House at Air Force Village II, San Antonio, formerly of Hays, died Friday, June 20, 2014.

He was born June 12, 1927, in Little River to John and Doris (Stoughton) Fuller.

He married Beth Moss on June 1, 1947, and they were married for 37 years. She preceded him in death in 1984. He later married Fern Wilhelm in 1986. They were married for 28 years until she preceded him in death June 6, 2014. He was a vice president of sales for Pepsi Cola for 32 years and sold real estate for Dean Ellner of Hays for 17 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Cancer Council of Ellis County, Sunflower Polka Club, American Legion Post No. 173, 40 & 8, VFW Post No. 3184, Masonic Lodge, Hays, ISIS Shrine, Salina, and FOE.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, remodeling houses and polka dancing.

Survivors include a son, Larry Fuller and wife, Sharie, San Antonio; four daughters, Patty Cobb, Sanborn, Iowa, Carol Marben and husband, Ron, Carlsbad, Calif., Rita Coker, Waco, Texas, and Jana Fuller Ward, Casa Grande, Ariz.; a brother, Stephen Fuller, Richmond, Va.; three sisters, Marilyn LaRue Wall, Green Valley, Ariz., Sharon Roelfs, McPherson, and Judy Speer, Mineral, Va.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 11 nieces; and seven nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Nadine Fuller and Mary Virginia Wothe; and six brothers, Howard, Paul, Bernard, Glenn, John and Kenneth LaVerne Fuller.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Little River; burial in Bean Memorial Cemetery, Little River, with Masonic graveside rites and military honors by the U.S. Navy.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with family present.

Memorials suggested to Cancer Council of Ellis County in care of the funeral home.
