Josephine 'Josie' West

Josephine "Josie" West, 93, Oakley, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at her home.

She was born July 13, 1920, in Sheridan County to George and Barbara (Zerr) Heier.

She married S.E. West on Dec. 28, 1960, in Park. He preceded her in death. She was a beautician.

Survivors include a brother, Phil Heier and wife, Rosella, Grainfield; a sister-in-law, Louella Heier, Oakley; three stepsons, Frank West, Muldrow, Okla., Verle West, Monroe, Ark., and Bud West, Parker, Colo.; eight step-grandchildren; and 20 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Joseph Heier; and two sisters, Katherine Heier and Johanna Pfeiffer.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church, Oakley; burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Park.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home, Oakley.

A rosary/wake will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph School, Daughters of Isabella, Sacred Heart Basement Project or Senior Companions in care of the funeral home.
