Julie Ann (Ernst) Honas, 53, Ellis, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center, Wichita.

She was born April 28, 1960, in Hays to Lionel "Sonny" and Mary (Cannon) Ernst. She was a 1978 graduate of Ellis High School.

She married Stan "Buck" Honas on June 20, 1981, in Russell. She was a nutrition specialist for the Ellis public school system for 17 years.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

She enjoyed being a grandma, gardening, cooking, reading and her scratch lottery tickets.

Survivors include her husband, Ellis; a son, Cody Honas and wife, Megan, WaKeeney; a daughter, Molly Kohl and husband, Jamie, Ellis; her mother and step-father, Mary and Don Reinhardt, Russell; two brothers, Greg Ernst, Ellis, and Joe Ernst, Wilson; a sister, Kay Ickler, Russell; four grandchildren, Jamison and Jett, both of Ellis, and Hunter and Breckyn, both of WaKeeney; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Oscar and Betty Honas, Ellis; and a special companion, Koda.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Ellis; burial in the church cemetery.

A rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to her grandchildren's education fund in care of Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E. 17th, Ellis, KS 67637.
