June Leola Van Dyke

June Leola Van Dyke, 88, Plainville, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008, at Rooks County Health Center, Plainville.

She was born Feb. 23, 1920, in Speed to Louise (Eller) Watkins and Solly Eller.

She married Joe Pastine in Denver. She later married Barrett Harmon Van Dyke on June 5, 1950, in Plainville. He preceded her in death May 25, 1993. She was a freelance writer and photographer for the Salina Journal and published photographer for Life-Times.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Pastine, Camp Verde, Ariz., and Jeffrey Barrett Van Dyke, Plainville; and two grandchildren.

A private service will take place with burial in Plainville City Cemetery.

Visitation will be until 8 p.m. today, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mosher-Kemp Family Funeral Home, Plainville.

Memorials are suggested to Rooks County Health Care Foundation or Humane Society of High Plains in care of the funeral home.
