Keith E. Hockman, 93, Hill City, formerly of WaKeeney, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital, WaKeeney.

He was born June 7, 1920, in rural Trego County to Carmen Lee and Ethel Bell (Cloud) Hockman. He was a graduate of WaKeeney High School.

He married Hulda Mai on Aug. 3, 1941. He later married Viola (Schmidt) Clemons on Nov. 9, 1969. She preceded him in death March 16, 2002. He was a dairyman for many years and worked until retirement at age 86. He was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II.

Suvivors include two sons, Kenneth L. Hockman, Sacramento, Calif., and Rick Hockman, Hill City; two daughters, Diane Cooper, Hays, and LaDonna Mattke, Ogallah; three step-daughters, Darcy Pembleton, Salina, Karla Harding, Benson, Ariz., and Tina Doerfler, Hays; a sister, Katherine Kroeger, El Paso, Texas; 11 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Keith Jr.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney; burial in WaKeeney City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Wounded Warrior Project in care of the funeral home.
