Kenneth J. Dinkel, 82, Lakewood, Colo., died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at Collier Hospice, Wheatridge, Colo.
He was born May 1, 1931, in rural Victoria to Joseph and Salomia "Sally" (Rohleder) Dinkel. He was a 1949 graduate of Victoria High School and received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Air Force.
He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 178, Lakewood, Colo.
He married Peggy Kirwan on Dec. 29, 1956, in Denver.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Joe Dinkel, Lakewood, Colo.; four daughters, Laura Arundel, Evergreen, Colo., Tina Bishop and husband, Bob, Denver, Julia Dybdahl and Vanessa Caniff and husband, Tom, all of Lakewood; five sisters, Lily Meier, Mary Ann Doerfler, and Dolores Tremblay, all of Hays, and Joanne Steinert and husband, Sid, Munjor, and Darlene Pfannenstiel, Shawnee; and five grandchildren, Briant Dinkel, Erin and Ian Bishop, and Emily and Taylor Dybdahl.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Joseph; a son-in-law, Jeff Arundel on Sept. 12, 2013; a sister, Patsy Brungardt; and five brothers-in-law.
Services were Nov. 19 at St. Jude's Catholic Church, Lakewood; burial in Fort Logan Federal Cemetery, Denver.
