Ralph "Whitie" Koerner, 90, Hays, died Monday, July 23, 2012, at Via Christi Village, Hays.

He was born March 22, 1922, in Hays to John A. and Josephine (Leiker) Koerner. He was a 1940 graduate of Hays High School.

He married Louise Staab on Feb. 23, 1943, in Catharine. He was a truck driver for Graves Truck line for 42 years.

He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and Knights of Columbus.

He enjoyed the KU Jayhawks, Kansas City Royals, doing yard work and being the family caretaker.

Survivors include his wife, Hays; two sons, Richard Koerner and wife, Jody, Topeka, and David Koerner and wife, Judy, Lee's Summit, Mo.; a daughter, Ann Koerner and husband, Rich Camp, Plymouth, Minn.; a brother, Donald "Pete" Koerner, Arvada, Colo.; a sister, Flora Mae "Mates" Swim, Colorado Springs, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Thomas and Herbert Koerner; and a sister, Mildred Maska.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, both at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.

A rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a vigil at 7 p.m., both at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Thomas More Prep-Marian High School in care of the funeral home.
