Larry Michael Long, 61, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013, in Crestline at his sister's home.

He was born July 12, 1951, in Renton, Wash., to Donald Hugh and Shirley Ann (Ashcraft) Long. He was a 1969 graduate of Derby Senior High and attended Fort Hays State University and received a bachelor's degree in art education in 1975.

He married Montine Bearley on March 11, 1973, in Oberlin. He taught high school art in Sharon Springs and Oberlin and outreach classes through Colby Community College.

Survivors include a daughter, Jessica Luck, Hays; two sisters, Joyce Bates, Crestline, and Joyce Dirks, Canton; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Aaron John, on Sept. 6, 1975.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Oberlin.

Memorials are suggested to Jessica Luck, 1206 E. 33rd, Hays, KS 67601.
