Lavern J. Braun, 73, Victoria, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in rural Ellis County.
He was born Dec. 12, 1939, in Vincent to Wendelin A. and Clarita (Rohr) Braun. He was a 1958 graduate of Victoria High School. He married Darlene (Dinkel) on May 4, 1963, in Ellis. He was a farmer, an over the road truck driver and retired after 42 years of being on the road.
He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Vincent, and a member of Victoria Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed his family and his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Rick Braun and wife, Janice, and Terry Braun and wife, Krista, all of Victoria; three sisters, Doris Robben, Louise Robben and Rosie Dinkel, all of Victoria; four grandchildren, Jenna Dempewolf and husband, Andrew, Lane Braun, Jacy Braun, Walker Braun; and his beloved dog, Bear.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers-in-law, Charles Robben, Kenneth Robben and Donald Dinkel.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria; burial in St. Boniface Cemetery, Vincent.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the church and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Monday at Cline's Mortuary, 412 Main, Victoria, KS 67671.
A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, followed by a Victoria Knights of Columbus rosary and a class of 1958 rosary at 7:30 p.m., all at the church.
Memorials are suggested to St. Boniface Catholic Church, Vincent, in care of the mortuary.
