Laverna Moore

Laverna Moore, 75, Grainfield, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at Gove County Medical Center, Quinter.

She was born Oct. 11, 1934, in Grainfield to Frank and Katherine (Engel) Selenke.

She married Merle Moore on Jan. 18, 1954. He preceded her in death April 26, 1998. She was a bookkeeper for Shaw Motor Co.

Survivors include two sons, Mark Moore, Phoenix, and Roger Moore, Berryton; a daughter, Brenda Ikenberry, Wichita; four sisters, Lavina Logan, Roanoke, Texas, Marlene Kaiser, Morrison, Colo., Janet Downey, Green River, Wyo., and Shirley Kaiser, Cheyenne, Wyo.; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Grainfield; burial in Grainfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.

A vigil will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Grainfield Opera House or Merle and Laverna Moore Scholarship Fund in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 901 S. Main, Quinter, KS 67752.
