LeRoy Paul Scott, 71, Luray, formerly of Hill City, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at Hays Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 21, 1943, in Penokee to Roy "Socks" and Georgia A. (Post) Scott. He attended school in Hill City.

He married Kathryn "Kathy" M. Wensorra on Feb. 9, 1971 in Iowa City, Iowa. He was an assistant weed director with Graham County and retired from the county in 2001.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two daughters, Julie Peterson, Lenora, and Shaunna Scott, Luray; four brothers, Myron Scott, Hill City, Merlin Scott, Frederick, Okla., Leland "Pete" Scott, Basehor, and Albert Scott, Henderson, Nev.; three sisters, Leota Goss, Norton, Leola Chase, Hill City, and Loletta Nevins, Strong City; and two grandsons.

A celebration of life will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Luray; graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Hill City.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with family to greet guests from 6 to 7 p.m. at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell.

Memorials are suggested to United Methodist Church, Luray, in care of the mortuary.
