Lee K. McDaniel, 86, Hoxie, died Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Gove County Medical Center, Quinter.

He was born July 8, 1927, in Great Bend to Jacob and Faye (Bishop) McDaniel.

He married Mary Alice (Conard) McDaniel on May 23, 1958, in Hoxie. She preceded him in death. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War.

Survivors include three daughters, Shannon Kelley, Godfrey, Ill., Heather Bracht and husband, Ron, and Elisabeth Rall and husband, Doug, all of Hoxie; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Brown; four brothers, Ray McDaniel, Arthur McDaniel, Bill McDaniel and Wayne McDaniel; and a grandson, Christopher Slone.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Elias, Kallal-Schaaf Funeral Home, Godfrey, Ill.; inurnment in Valhalla Cemetery, Godfrey.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, Hoxie.

Memorials are suggested to Hoxie Presbyterian Church, Ridgewood Manor or Hoxie Food Pantry in care of the funeral home.
