Leland R. Stutheit, 74, Waverly, Neb., and formerly of Salina, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at Waverly Care Center after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

He was born Sept. 10, 1938, in Kensington to Harold and Lena (Grauerholz) Stutheit. He attended Fort Hays State College.

He married Sandra Sheley on June 21, 1959.

He was a retired grain elevator manager in various towns in Kansas and Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra; a daughter, Dian Hofferber, Greenwood, Neb.; a son, David Stutheit, Olive Branch, Miss.; two brothers, Marvin Stutheit, Norton, and Melvin Stutheit, Shawnee; a twin sister, Lela Eller, Hays; a sister, Helen DeVatz, Olathe; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Capitol Christian Church, 7800 Holdrege, Lincoln, Neb.; burial in Waverly Cemetery, Waverly. An additional service will be at a later date in Salina.

Memorials are suggested to Asera Care Hospice or Waverly Food Bank.
