She was born Nov. 14, 1925, near Victoria to Alfons M. and Mary (Windholz) Kuhn. She was a graduate of Victoria Rural High School.
She married George A. Lang on April 6, 1948, in Victoria. She worked at Walker Air Force Base during World War II. She later worked at Wiesner’s Department Store and for Bell Telephone Co. at the switchboard.
She was a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church, the St. Nicholas prayer group, Altar Society Christian Mothers, Eucharistic Perpetual Adorers, Daughters of Isabella, and Hays Medical Center Auxiliary.
Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, playing on her computer, taking care of her family and her grandchildren. She was a lifelong learner, loved to pray and would go to the perpetual adoration chapel.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son, Paul Lang and wife, Linda, Hays; two daughters, Barbara Randa and husband, Gene, Salisbury, N.C., and Kathleen Goeken and husband, John, Shorewood, Ill.; two sisters, Cora Lou Ryan, Victoria, and Alice M. DeHart, Renton, Wash.; seven grandchildren, Jenny Lang, McPherson, Stacy Blau and husband, Josh, Kansas City, Amber Harvell and husband, Daniel, Cornelius, N.C., Bryson and Brent Randa, both of Salisbury, N.C., and Aron and Danielle Goeken, both of Shorewood; and a soon-to-be great-grandchild, Teegan Harvell.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Georgine Lang; an infant brother, Paul Kuhn; two sisters, Clara Kuhn and Mildred Goetz; and four brothers-in-law, Edwin Patterson, Louis DeHart, Richard Ryan and Marvin Goetz.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Friday, both at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine.
A combined Christian Mothers and Perpetual Adorers rosary will be at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, a Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 6:30 p.m., followed by a vigil at 7 p.m., all at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
