Leona M. Leiker, 88, La Crosse, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at Locust Grove Village, La Crosse.

She was born May 20, 1924, in Pfeifer to Casper and Mary (Schmidt) Jacobs. She was a 1942 graduate of Bison High School.

She married Ralph J. Leiker on Feb. 6, 1945, in La Crosse. He preceded her in death Aug. 19, 2005. She was a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service prior to retirement in 1979.

Survivors include three sons, Ron Leiker and wife, Debbie, and Doug Leiker, and wife, Tammy, all of Lyons, and Rich Leiker and wife, Pam, La Crosse; two daughters, Barbara Peine, and husband, Joe, Fulton, and Carol Kreutzer and husband, Don, Shawnee; eight brothers, Celestine Jacobs, Ralph Jacobs and Eugene Jacobs, all of La Crosse, Virgil Jacobs, Great Bend, Daniel Jacobs, Wichita, Leroy Jacobs, La Crosse, Jerry Jacobs, Hays, and Bill Jacobs, La Crosse; two sisters, Elenora Holzmeister, Quinter, and Mary Lou Warren, Clearwater; 12 grandchildren, Timothy James, Dallas, Tracey Slous, Branson, Mo., Tate Kreutzer and Tammy Evans, both of Shawnee, Lachelle Spann, Latasha Southern and Brett Leiker, all of Hutchinson, Brian Leiker, Lyons, Amber Irvin, La Crosse, Jason Leiker, Victoria, Alisha Pennington, Hutchinson, and Andrea Rumler, Nickerson; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Viola Dreher, Louise Besperat and Albina Birney.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, La Crosse; burial in La Crosse City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse.

A vigil/rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Rush County EMTs or the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
