Leonard C. Oborny, 74, Rush Center, died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, at his home.
He was born Dec. 29, 1937, in La Crosse to Charles and Elizabeth (Hladik) Oborny. He was a 1955 graduate of La Crosse Rural High School.
He married Alice R. (Nordman) on Jan. 6, 1959, in Olmitz. He was a service tire repairman for Farmer's Co-op, Rush Center.
Survivors include his wife, Rush Center; three sons, Eugene C. Oborny and companion, Cindy Martin, La Crosse, David Oborny and wife, Kassey, Rush Center, and Paul A. Oborny and wife, Wanda, Hays; a daughter, Leona Benedict and husband, Larry, Ness City; a sister, Betty Skillett, Hays; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Joshua Black; five brothers, John Oborny, baby Charles Oborny, Charles Oborny, Larry Oborny and Louis Oborny; and two sisters, Mary Ann Nather and Agnes Pechanec.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Timken; burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Timken.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with family present from 6 to 7 p.m., at Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, and from 9 to 9:50 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
A vigil/rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Rush County EMTs, La Crosse, or Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Timken, in care of the funeral home.
