Leonard Guy Wilkinson

Leonard Guy Wilkinson, 89, died Saturday, June 9, 2012, in Hays.

He was born March 15, 1923, in Hitchcock County, Neb., to Guy and Rosie (Urban) Wilkinson. He was a 1940 graduate of McDonald Rural High School.

He married Berdean Mae Sramek on Oct. 9, 1951. He returned to Rawlins County to farm. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years; a son, Daniel Wilkinson, rural Atwood; five daughters, Karen Threlkel and Barbara Wagoner, both of Hays, Janet Malone, Leawood, Mary Wilkinson, Centennial, Colo., and Teresa Wilkinson, Wake Forest, N.C.; a brother, Kenneth Wilkinson; nine grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, rural Atwood; burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Atwood.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Home, Atwood, and after 6 p.m. at the church.

A vigil and Knights of Columbus rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the church.
