Lillian Arnhold, 80, Firestone, Colo., formerly of Hays, died Monday, April 29, 2013, at her home. She was born Jan. 19, 1933, in Hays to Frank and Bernadine (Leiker) Mermis.

She married Daniel Arnhold on Oct. 1, 1951, in Hays. He preceded her in death Nov. 29, 2007.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at the age of 47 and battled with the physical, emotional and mental challenges of this debilitating disease for 34 years.

Survivors include two sons, Dale Arnhold and wife, Sandi, Northglenn, Colo., and Rick Arnhold and wife, Andrea, Eagle, Colo.; two daughters, Cindy Arnhold, Firestone and Audrey Ingram and husband, Craig, Longmont, Colo.; three brothers, Frank Mermis, Bill Mermis and Gerry Mermis; three sisters, Delorse Hoffman, Mary Ellen Schmidt, and Alice Herrman; and four grandchildren, Mack, Davey, Maygen and little Noah.

She was preceded in death two brothers, Cecil Mermis and Vernon Mermis; and a sister, Betty Leiker.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hays Memorial Chapel, 20th and Pine.
