Linda A. (Hyames) McMillen, 73, Dighton, died Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Via Christi Long Term Care, Hays.

She was born Nov. 19, 1940, in Dighton to Grant M. and Marie M. (Lind) Hyames Jr. She was a 1958 graduate of Dighton High School. She attended Fort Hays State College before moving to Kansas City, Mo., where she graduated from Kansas City Junior College. In 1986, she enrolled in Phillips Graduate Seminary, graduating in 1989.

She married Kent D. McMillen on Aug. 16, 1959, in Dighton. He preceded her in death April 26, 2008. After her ordination as a Disciples of Christ minister, she served churches in Manhattan and Denver prior to moving back to Dighton.

Survivors include a son, Devin McMillen and wife, Jennifer, Ellinwood; three daughters, Michelle McMillen, Fort Collins, Colo., Korinna Parker and husband, Kevin, Hays, and Lisa Paine and husband, Patrick, Van Alstyne, Texas; a sister, Diana Zweygardt, Fort Collins, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church; burial in Dighton Memorial Cemetery

Memorials are suggested to Phillips Seminary Scholarship Fund for Women, or First Christian Church, in care of Boomhower Funeral Home, Dighton.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, both at the funeral home.
