Lonnie B. Irvin, 57, Hoisington, died Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington.

He was born March 2, 1955, at La Crosse to Dean and Inez (Brackney) Irvin.

He was a graduate of McCracken High School and Fort Hays State University. He was a high school teacher and coached girls' basketball at La Crosse and Ellis and football at Hoisington. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his former wife, Tamera Higgins Irvin, Hoisington; a daughter, Kyra Horesky, Hays; and a son, Cameron Horesky, Hoisington.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John the Evangelist Church, Hoisington; burial in the McCracken Cemetery.

Vistitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington.

Memorials are suggested to the McCracken Alumni Association or the McCracken Library, in case of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
