Loren Eugene "Gene" Breckenridge, 85, Salina, formerly of Stockton, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at Eagle Crest Retirement Community, Salina.

He was born Sept. 17, 1927, in Alton to Loren C. and Areta M. (Dibble) Breckenridge.

He married Neola Mae Griffin on Aug. 13, 1950, in rural Natoma. She preceded him in death. He was a U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force veteran.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan Lanphear, Bakersfield, Calif., and Ericka Werling, Solomon; two sisters, June Cornwell, St. John, and Patsy Noble, Castle Rock, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Breckenridge.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, Plainville; burial in Stockton Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, both at Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home, Stockton.

Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
