Ludwina Haselhorst, 92, Hays, died Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born April 10, 1921, in Liebenthal to Michael and Magdalena (Herrman) Schaffer.

She married Irvin A. Haselhorst on Nov. 19, 1941, in Liebenthal. He preceded her in death Sept. 27, 1995. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Christian Mothers.

Survivors include three sons, Leon Haselhorst and Dale F. Haselhorst and wife, Shelly, all of Hays, and Irvin E. Haselhorst and wife, Gail, Munjor; four daughters, Roberta Schuckman and husband, Eddie, La Crosse, Doris Zimmerman and husband, Carl, Schoenchen, Donetta Lang and husband, Don, Victoria, and Deborah Hatfield, Hays; a daughter-in-law, Linda Campbell and husband, Bob, Salina; two sisters, Frances Urban, Great Bend, and Mary Schaffer, Wichita; 26 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Duane Haselhorst; a son-in-law, Glen Hatfield; three brothers, Vincent, Joe and Michael Schaffer; and five sisters, Abbie Moeder, Bertha Moeder, Martina Werth, Monica Unrein and Anna Price.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church; burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, both at Brock's Funeral Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.

A vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, followed by a rosary, both at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Ludwina Haselhorst Memorial Fund to be designated at a later date.
