Lydia Mai, 101, Russell, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at Main Street Manor, Russell.
She was born Dec. 3, 1912, in Russell to Reinhardt and Maria "Mary" (Ehrlich) Mai. She attended Russell County schools.
She married John "Fred" Mai on June 26, 1938, in WaKeeney. He preceded her in death June 8, 2011. She was a bread-baker for USD 407 schools from 1958 until retirement in 1974.
Survivors include a son, Marvin Mai, Santa Rosa, Calif.; a brother, Alex Mai, Russell; a sister, Helen Keil, Russell; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary Chapel, Russell; burial in Russell City Cemetery.
Visitation will be until 8 p.m. Monday, with family present to greet guests from 6 to 7 p.m. at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church in care of the mortuary.
