Margie Lorraine Robben, 86, Gorham, died Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 12, 1925, in Montrose, Colo., to James M. and Carrieane (Hickock) Lipes.

She married Eugene Robben on April 26, 1945, in Riverside, Calif. She was a cook at St. Mary's Grade School in Gorham, and worked as a clerk at JC Penney's in Russell and managed a fabric store in Russell.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Russell for 41 years, VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Russell, and bowled in Russell for 40 years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Gorham for 65 years.

She enjoyed fishing and camping and was an avid machine knitter.

Survivors include her children, Eugene W. Robben Jr., Topeka, Kathleen Sewell, Gorham, Michael Robben, Wichita, Gail Wade, Denton, Texas, and Scott Robben, Kansas City, Mo.; three sisters, Marie Donaldson and Helen Jaramillo, California, and Roselee Proctor, Washington; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, James, Kenneth and Alton; and a sister, Virginia Bartling.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Gorham; inurnment will follow services in St. Mary's Cemetery, Gorham.

Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601, is in charge of arrangements.

Family will be present to greet friends from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
