Marjorie Mae Walker, 97, Ransom, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at Rhode Island Suites Long Term Care, Ransom.
She was born Jan. 13, 1916, in McAllaster to Arthur and Viola Newell Luther.
She married Charles Walker on Aug. 29, 1934, in Goodland. He preceded her in death Feb. 17, 1965. She was a long time employee at Utica community cafe, where she worked until she was 85.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, Utica. She enjoyed celebrating her birthdays in the later part of her life, always including a huge family gathering.
Survivors include three sons, Rex Walker and wife, Maxine, Enid, Okla., Carroll Walker and wife, Mona, Eads, Colo., and Dennis Walker and wife, Duanna, Utica; two daughters, Minnie Popp and husband, Myron, Utica, and Carolyn Venters; a brother, Lyle Luther, Effingham, Ill.; a sister, Rosalie Cheney, Utica; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Charles "Shorty"; a brother, Lloyd Luther; and a sister, Louise McCartee.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church, Utica; burial in Utica Cemetery.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, both at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.
