Marlyn D. "Chief" Steinle, 78, Wilson, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at Golden Living Center, Wilson.

He was born Aug. 23, 1935, in Russell County to Daniel W. and Marie (Heinze) Steinle.

He married Vickie (Dumler) Steinle on May 29, 1965. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Brent D. Steinle and Brian L. Lucas, both of Lucas, Todd Steinle, Wilson, and Kendall Steinle, Dorrance; a brother, Frances D. Steinle, McPherson; six grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church, Dorrance; burial in Dorrance City Cemetery, with military rites by Dorrance American Legion Post No. 334 and Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Visitation will be until 8 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. until time of service Tuesday, both at the church.

Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church in care of Foster Mortuary, Wilson.
