Martha 'Marty' Mae Tuttle

Martha “Marty” Mae Tuttle, 80, Quinter, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Gove County Medical Center, Quinter.

She was born Oct. 15, 1932, in rural Trego County to Joseph and Mary (Down) Carlson. She attended Pioneer School, Valley School and graduated in 1950 from Trego County High School, WaKeeney.

She married Delbert Emmert Tuttle on Jan. 25, 1951, in Raton, N.M. She was a certified nurse’s aide and caregiver.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; three sons, Dennis (Br. Jeremiah, OSB), Conception, Mo., Scott Tuttle, Hays, and Jay Sheldon Tuttle, Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Melissa Riegel, Collyer; a sister, Janice Peterson, Las Cruces, N.M.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services were July 6 at Quinter Church of the Brethren; inurnment in Baker Township Cemetery, Quinter.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorials are suggested to Martha Tuttle Memorial Fund in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 901 S. Main, Quinter, KS 67752.
