Marvin Unruh, 91, Quinter, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at Gove County Medical Center Long Term Care, Quinter.
He was born June 7, 1921, in rural Copeland to Lincoln L. and Elda (Unruh) Unruh. He was a graduate of Copeland High School.
He married Juanita "Skeeter" Basinger, on Oct. 19, 1947, in Utica. She preceded him in death March 15, 2007. In 1951, he went to work selling cars and bought the Utica business in 1957. In 1967, he bought the dealership in Quinter. He was a U.S veteran, serving during World War II.
Survivors include a son, David E. Unruh, Salina; a daughter, Lisa Ann Thelen, Hugo, Colo.; six brothers, Leslie Unruh, Copeland, Orlan Unruh, Dodge City, Norman Unruh, Brooksville, Miss., Charles Unruh, Ulysses, Delbert Unruh, Scio, Ore., and Arnold Unruh, Copeland; seven sisters, Irene Koehn and Lorene Nichols, both of Montezuma, Celesta Koehn and Geneva Nightengale, both of Brooksville, Nora Friesen, Aberdeen, Miss., and Ladean Nightengale and Berniece Koehn, both of Copeland; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Church of the Brethren, Quinter; burial in Baker Township Cemetery, Quinter.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Schmitt Funeral Home, 901 S. Main, Quinter, KS 67752.
Memorials are suggested to Quinter Senior Center or Church of the Brethren in care of the funeral home.
