Mary A. Betts
Mary A. Betts, 79, Dorrance, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, in Dorrance.
She was born June 15, 1931, in Ellsworth County to Theodore and Viola (Frohreich) Schepmann.
She married Athol Betts on Feb. 4, 1951, in Holyrood. He preceded her in death April 4, 2003. She was owner and operator of Betts Retail Liquor, Dorrance, for 10 years.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Betts, Greenbriar, Ark., and Michael Betts, Hays; a daughter, Jacque L. Bay, Dorrance; a brother, Kenneth Schepmann, Holyrood; a sister, Gladys Gilpin, Salina; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, Dorrance; burial in Dorrance City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Foster Mortuary, Wilson, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church, Dorrance, in care of the mortuary.
