Mary A. Maurath, 99, Oakley, died Friday, May 9, 2014, at the Logan County Manor, Oakley.

She was born Jan. 25, 1915, in rural Grainfield to Theodore and Regina (Heier) Ziegler.

She married George A. Maurath in Grainfield on Nov. 12, 1935. He preceded her in death. She was a dietary cook at Oakley Manor and a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Clement Maurath, Woodstock, Ill., and Elmer Maurath, Oakley; four daughters, Beatta Robben, Grinnell, Laura Goetz, Oakley, LaVerna Hartman, Lakewood, Colo., and Rosalee Heskett, Colby; a sister, Rose Zimmerman, Oakley; 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two infant daugthers: Arlene and Mary.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oakley; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home. A rosary/wake service will be at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Logan County Manor and St. Joseph School in care of Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home, P.O. Box 221, Oakley, KS 67748.
