Mary Ann Karlin, 84, Ellis, died Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital, WaKeeney.

She was born May 26, 1929, in Antonino to Carl and Monica (Ruder) Pfannenstiel.

She married Peter Karlin on October 13, 1952, in Antonino. He preceded her in death July 8, 2002. She was a homemaker.

She enjoyed doing embroidery work and wood puzzles. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Christian Mothers.

Survivors include three sons, Mark Karlin and wife, Bernice, Ellis, and Mel Karlin and Mikel Karlin and wife, Joyce, all of Hays; four grandchildren, Amy Cassell and husband, Chris, Wamego, Luke Karlin, Ellis, Matthew Karlin and wife, DaLaena, Kansas City, and Michelle Stenvel and husband, James, Salina; and five great-grandchildren, Conrad, Austin and Anna Cassell, and Ben and Emily Karlin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Marcellus, Paul, Bemis and Francis Pfannenstiel; and a sister, Rita Pfannenstiel.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Ellis; burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E. 17th, Ellis, KS 67637.

A Daughters of Isabella rosary, followed by a vigil, will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel.

Memorials are suggested to St. Mary School in Ellis.
