Mary Elizabeth 'Liz' Greenway

Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Greenway, 57, Florence, Wis., died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, in Green Bay, Wis., following a sudden and brief illness.
She was born Sept. 15, 1956, in Bethesda, Md., but lived most of her life in the Dallas area. She graduated from J.J. Pearce High School in Richardson, Texas, then attended Stephen F. Austin University.
In 1975, she moved to Tehran, Iran, where her father was a contractor for Rockwell International. After returning to the United States in 1977, Liz worked for many years as an IT consultant to major telecom companies in Dallas. She moved to Florence in 2008.
Liz enjoyed spending time with her nieces, nephews and their children, who knew her as "cool Aunt Liz." She also loved the Dallas Cowboys, attending the Dallas Symphony with her mother, heated political discussions, and partying at the Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Festival with her friends. Liz was known for her generous and dedicated friendship, and her sense of humor.
Survivors include her sisters, Kathryn Ambrozich, and husband, Ed, of Florence, and Barbara Roberts of Annapolis, Md.; nieces Kara Sammet, Stacey Whitaker, Kristin Swanton and Stacy Ambrozich; nephews Sean Roberts and Todd Roberts; nine grand-nieces and grand-nephews; numerous "Kansas" cousins; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maj. Robert James Greenway and Elvora Greenway.
Services will be in La Crosse.
Memorials are suggested to the Almost Home Animal Shelter, 5060 Lincoln, Quinnesec, MI 49876, where her cats, Ozzy and Lucy, have been placed for adoption.
