Maxine McClelland, 91, Hoxie, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Sheridan County Long Term Care, Hoxie.

She was born April 2, 1923, in Sheridan County to Bert C. and Nellie Mae (Richards) Shafer.

She married Thomas Francis McClelland on Sept. 14, 1941. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas Max McClelland, Hays, and James A. McClelland, Munjor; a daughter, Patricia Berg, Collyer; a sister, Mary Heckendorn, Lakewood, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson and two great-grandchildren.

Services were Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Hoxie; burial in Hoxie City Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or First Presbyterian Church, Hoxie, in care of Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, Hoxie.
