Darren Eugene McVicker, 47, Ness City, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, in a single-vehicle accident in rural Ness County.

He was born June 2, 1966, in Wichita to Ernest and Maxine (Prose) McVicker.

He married Shelly Blake on Sept. 9, 1989, in Ness City. He was a farmer, stockman, and a truck driver for NCRA.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Sons of the American Legion, both of Ness City, and earned numerous driving awards for safety.

Survivors include his three children, Dillon, Blake and Tristan McVicker, all of Ness City; and a sister, Shyrl Taylor, Ness City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Ness City; cremation will take place after the funeral and inurnment in Buda Cemetery will occur at a later date.

Friends can call until 9 p.m. Friday with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.

Memorials are suggested to American Legion Frank Stull Post 152 or the Veterans' Memorial and Park, Ness City, in care of the funeral home.
