Melba Murphy, 81, Alton, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at Osborne County Memorial Hospital, Osborne.

She was born Feb. 14, 1932, in Lincoln County to Samuel and Florence (Mayes) Donley.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Wallace Murphy, Alton; four sons, Terry Murphy, Fairview, Okla., Daniel Murphy, Emporia, Carlin Murphy, Alma, and Richard Murphy, Osborne; two brothers, Walter Donley, Lincoln, and Dwight Donley, Beloit; three sisters, Phyllis Englebert and Ila Gayle Kennedy, both of Salina, and Neva Rathbun, Terry, Mont.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Peace Lutheran Church, Natoma; burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Ellsworth Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Clark-Gashaw Chapel, Osborne.

Memorials are suggested to Peace Lutheran Church, Natoma, or Lutheran Hour in care of the funeral home.
