Melvina Mary Francis, 85, formerly of Great Bend, died Monday, June 10, 2013, at Catholic Care Center, Bel Aire.
She was born Feb. 7, 1928, in Liebenthal to Adam and Mary (Gaube) Kreutzer.
She married Thaine "T.C." Francis on Sept. 14, 1948, in Great Bend. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
Survivors include her husband, Wichita; two sons, Dale Francis and wife, Barbara, Houston, and John Francis and wife, Nancy, Great Bend; a daughter, Renee Hawes, Haysville; a brother, George Kreutzer, Dallas; nine grandchildren, Joshua Francis, Nicholas Francis, Jordan Schupbach, Brandon Hawes, Ashley Hawes, Candace Hawes, Katelynn Hawes, Leslie Francis and Morgan Francis; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Aaron Hawes; four brothers, John Kreutzer, Joe Kreutzer, James Kreutzer and Tony Kreutzer; and four sisters, Geneva Sweetman, Clara Sweetman, Mary McMullen and Frances Denning.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Great Bend; burial in Great Bend Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
An altar society rosary will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, with a vigil and rosary at 7 p.m., both at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Holy Family School Endowment Fund in care of the funeral home.
