Michael Kent McKune

Michael Kent McKune, 63, Essex, Md., formerly of Russell, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at his home.

He was born July 1, 1950, in Stafford to Robert M. and Gladys (Hicks) McKune.  He was a 1969 graduate of Russell High School

He was a U.S. Army veteran.  

Survivors include his mother, Gladys Hatfield, Russell; three brothers, David McKune, Olathe, Kevin McKune and Steven McKune, both of Russell; and two sisters, Deborah McKune, Hays, and Kathleen Newton, Russell.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Russell City Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Russell VFW Post No. 6240 military honor guard.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with family present to greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to Evercare Hospice, who has assisted him the last several months.
