Mildred E. (Cahill) Mettlen, 87, Lucas, died Saturday, June 21, 2014.

She was born Oct. 20, 1926, in Osborne County.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Richard Mettlen, Lucas; a daughter, Peggy Feltis, Hays; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and a step-great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Jean Mettlen, in 2013.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lucas United Methodist Church; burial in Lucas Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, with family present at Rodrick & Minear Funeral Home, Lucas. Per her request, the casket will be closed.

Memorials are suggested to Lucas Public Library or Lucas United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
