Mildred Foos, 86, Hays, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born May 7, 1926, in Bazine to George and Eva Hettinger Strecker.

She married Reinhold Foos in February 1945. She was a retired caregiver.

Survivors include four daughters, Carol Basgall, Wichita, Marilyn Wilhelm and husband, Dennis, Rush Center, Beverly "Janie" Meder and husband, Ken, Hays, and Deborah North, southwest Kansas; two sisters, Rachel Stieben and Arlene Schamaun, both of Great Bend; a sister-in-law, Vella Strecker, Bazine; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lawrence and Waldimore "Dick" Strecker; and three sisters, Martha Murphy, Hermina Ries and Hilda Rein.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City; burial in Bazine Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Disabled American Veterans.
