Mildred Julia Kuntzsch, 85, Gorham, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Via Christi Village Care Center, Hays.

She was born April 21, 1927, in Victoria to Peter A. and Elizabeth (VonLintel) Quint.

She married Frederick E. "Fred" Kuntzsch on June 17, 1946, in Victoria. He preceded her in death Oct. 26, 1996. She worked at Safeway Foods and Travenol in Hays. She owned and operated Derby Cafe in Scott City until her retirement in 1988, when she moved to Gorham. Prior, she had lived in Larned, Great Bend and Hays.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella Circle No. 0287, both of Gorham.

Survivors include a son, Frederick E. Kuntzsch II and wife, Trudi, Scott City; four daughters, Kara Bredvick and Coralee Klein and husband, Edward, all of Gorham, Ruann Stang and husband, Thom, Ellsworth, and Marlys Simons and husband, Donald, Hays; two brothers, Clyde Quint, Arizona, and Donald Quint and wife, Sylvia, Hutchinson; two sisters-in-law, Midge Quint, Colorado, and Elvie Quint, Liberal; 15 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Floyd, Kenneth and Clarence Quint; and a sister, Mabel Dreher.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria; private family inurnment will be at a later date.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Cline's Mortuary, 412 Main, Victoria, KS 67671, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Friday, followed by a Gorham Daughters of Isabella rosary at 7:30 p.m., both at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to Prairie Lawn Cemetery or the Gorham Community Development Association Park Fund in care of the mortuary.
