(PIC) Dr. Myron Rene Hausheer, J.D.

Dr. Myron Rene Hausheer, J.D., 78, Topeka, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Stormont-Vail Hospital.

He was born June 10, 1934, in Lamoni, Iowa, to Herman and Bertha Christine (Roberts) Hausheer. He graduated from University of Iowa College of Medicine in 1959. In 1974, he graduated from Washburn University School of Law on the Dean's Honor Roll.

He married Angelina R. Zimmerman on Aug. 30, 1967, in Ellsworth. He had a general practice in western Kansas for several years before moving to Topeka, where he worked at Disability Determination Services for the state of Kansas.

He was a member of Community of Christ Church, where he was ordained to the office of elder. He was a member of American Medical Association, Kansas Bar Association, Fellow of American Academy of Family Physicians and Fellow of the American College of Legal Medicine. He was licensed in both Kansas and Iowa.

Survivors include his wife; his children, Michael Hausheer and wife, Cathy, Snoqualmie, Wash., Dr. Michelle Hausheer and husband, Dr. Russ Fitzgerald, Bentonville, Ark.; Mark, Kevin and Cherise Hausheer; a brother, Maurice Hausheer, Fredericksburg, Va.; six grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Susan Hausheer.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Herman J. Hausheer.

Services were Jan. 9 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel; private inurnment in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Community of Christ Church, 5252 S.W. 19th, Topeka, KS 66604.
