Nancy (Barrows) Slattery, age 59, of Fayette County, GA, passed away July 24, 2013.

Nancy was born and raised in La Crosse, Kansas. Nancy received her bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas; she continued her education in pursuit of a Masters in Business from the University of Denver.

She was an executive in the field of Business Travel Marketing and often recognized with awards, i.e. Woman of the Year in Business Travel and American Express' President's Club, etc.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas M. Barrows and sister-in-law, Mary M. Barrows.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas M. Slattery, Georgia; mother, Ruby Barrows, Kansas; her brother, Richard Barrows, Kansas; niece, Ann (Bryce) Walter, Kansas; many cousins and her Godchild, Callie.

At the University of Kansas, Nancy was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority where she made many lifelong friends. Nancy loved watching, cheering and talking about the "Jayhawks." She always looked forward to her phone "visits" with friends and family (i.e. Vicki Johnson). She loved traveling and watching videos of her Godchild Callie and her sister Emma. She will be remembered as an inspiration in the way she carried her cross of cancer. A voracious reader with a dynamic presence, she exuded class. She was a gregarious and loving daughter, wife, sister, aunt, Godmother and friend. She was a caring person who loved her St. Matthews Parish family and the dedicated medical teams that supported and cared for her over the past five-plus years. You may send flowers and/or donations in her honor to your favorite charity and/or have a Catholic Liturgy celebrated in her name. (St Matthew's Telephone, 770-964-5804).

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 11 o'clock at Ness City Cemetery. Parrott Funeral Home & Crematory, Fairbum, Georgia, 770-964-4800.
