Nancy Tullis Clark, 79, formerly of Russell, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Mo.
She was born Feb. 25, 1934, in McPherson to Edith and Albert Tullis. She was a 1952 graduate of Russell High School, after which she moved to Hays to attend Fort Hays State College. In addition to her bachelor's degree from FHSU, she received a master's degree in education from Ottawa University.
She married Kenard A. Clark in 1954. He preceded her in death in 1987. She was a school teacher, served the communities of Plainville, Kanopolis, Paradise, Salina, Agra and Munden before moving to Kansas City in 1963. She taught in elementary schools in a Kansas City, Mo., school district for more than 30 years, with approximately 1,000 students on her career roster.
She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, an international honorary organization of women educators, and served as chapter president from 1988 to 1990.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Carol Clark, Grandview, Mo., her longtime friends, Barbara and Jim Bruns, Kansas City, Mo.; and her nieces and nephews and their families, including John T. and Carolyn Bird, Hays.
She was preceded in death by a son, Eric Clark, in 2013.
Services were Wednesday at St. Luke United Methodist Church, Kansas City, Mo.
