Norbert L. Hartman, 90, Loretto, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Locust Grove Village, La Crosse.

He was born Feb. 13, 1923, in Loretto to George and Catharine (Stegman) Hartman. He was a resident of Rush County.

He was a farmer.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Liebenthal.

Survivors include a niece, Kathy Hoffman, Wichita; and nine nephews, Ralph Basgall, Wichita, LeRoy Basgall, Russell, Melvin Basgall, Elk City, Okla., Virgil Basgall, Carson City, Nev., Robert Basgall, Lake Wilson, Ronald Basgall, Great Bend, Raymond Basgall, La Crosse, Anthony Basgall, Brownell, and Daniel Basgall, McCracken.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Celestin Hartman and Alvin Hartman; a sister, Euphrosena Basgall; a niece, Mary Jane Pittman; and two nephews, Gerald Basgall and Harry Basgall.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Loretto; burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Loretto.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, and from 9:30 to 10:20 a.m. Monday at the church.

A vigil/rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Shrine Inc., Loretto, in care of the funeral home.
