Oliva (Lang) Pfannenstiel, 97, Munjor, died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Via Christi Village, Hays.
She was born March 5, 1916, east of Hays to Anthony and Catherine "Katie" (Wiesner) Lang. She was a graduate of Victoria High School.
She married Edward Pfannenstiel on May 21, 1934, in Munjor. He preceded her in death March 3, 1982. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and St. Francis Christian Mothers, both of Munjor.
She enjoyed baking, needlework and her family.
Survivors include two sons, Vernon Pfannenstiel and Verlin Pfannenstiel and wife, Elaine, all of Munjor; six daughters, Darlene Dinges and husband, Robert, Dalton, Ga., Jeanette Tauscher and husband, Charles, and Juanita Stecklein and husband, Alan, all of Hays, Judy Pfannenstiel-Waxse and husband, Dave, Overland Park, Mary Pfannenstiel-Miller and husband, Tim, Lincoln, Neb., and Joyce Allen and husband, Gene, Atchison; three brothers, Clarence Lang and wife, Melinda, George Lang and wife, Lenora, and Ralph Lang and wife, Bertha, all of Hays; a sister, Leona Walters, Hays; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Lang, Catharine, and Rita Legleiter, La Crosse; 27 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a step great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Mary Pfannenstiel; a daughter-in-law, Anna Mae Pfannenstiel; and two brothers, Anthony "Tony" Lang and Isadore Lang.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Munjor; burial in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Munjor.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Friday and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, both at Cline's Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd, Hays, KS 67601.
A St. Francis Christian Mothers and Hays Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday, followed by a vigil at 7 p.m., both at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church or Hospice of Hays Medical Center in care of the mortuary.
