Oneida N. Desbien

Oneida N. Desbien, 97, Plainville, formerly of Bogue, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Redbud Village, Plainville.

She was born March 31, 1915, in rural Graham County to Ernest W. and Esther (Benedict) Dunning.

She married Arthur Leo Desbien on July 27, 1937, in Damar. He preceded her in death Nov. 14, 1996. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Vernon Desbien, Livermore, Colo., and Stephen Desbien, Lamar, Mo.; two daughters, Gloria Scott, Plainville, and Karla Wyss, Fort Wayne, Ind.; two brothers, Gary Dunning, The Dalles, Ore., and Gilbert Dunning, Drake, Colo.; two sisters, Myrna Heskett, Oakley, and Esther Jean Wilson, Omaha, Neb.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a grandson.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Bogue; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Damar.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Stinemetz Funeral Home, Hill City.

A family wake service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
