Opal Laura Barb, 98, Plainville, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, at Redbud Village, Plainville.

She was born Jan. 28, 1915, in Dallas County, Mo., to Elic V. and Missouri (Taylor) Rambo.

She married Herbert Leon Barb on June 9, 1934, in Canton. He preceded her in death in 1990.

Survivors include a son, Ron Barb and wife, Glenda, Burkburnett, Texas; six grandchildren, Susan Mauldin and husband, John, Donna Conley and husband, Mark, Jackie Holdbrook and husband, Jackie, Laurie Shotts and husband, Tim, Doug Carmichael and Paul Barb; six great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marlys Carmichael.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Christian Church, Plainville; burial in Plainville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, both at Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, Plainville.

Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church or Redbud Village in care of the funeral home.
