Orlinda A. Werth, 88, Hays, died Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Hays Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 3, 1922, in Schoenchen to John A. and Rose M. (Stoecklein) Werth. She attended Sisters of St. Joseph Grade School and Rural High School in Schoenchen.
She was employed at Boeing Co. in Wichita for 25 years. She was an extra ordinary minister at St. Anthony Church and took communion to the homebound after the communion service under the guidance of Father Paulinus Karlin for 10 years. She was involved with many mission projects for approximately 30 years.
She was a member of the Schoenchen Alter Society. In 2002, she moved to Hays and became a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. On March 19, 2000, she made her profession in Secular Franciscan Order.
Survivors include two sisters, Richarda Werth and Yvonne Werth, both of Hays; and a brother, Allen Werth, Louisville, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Edwin; and a sister, Hubertine.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Anthony Cemetery, Schoenchen.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, both at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays.
A Secular Franciscan wake service and rosary will be at 5 p.m. today, a St. Anthony Altar Society rosary will be at 6 p.m., followed by a wake at 6:30 p.m., all at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
